Well it’s over. David Cook is this year’s American Idol! Poor David Archuleta will have to settle for coming in second place. But I don’t feel too badly for him, I’m sure he’ll be getting lots of offers and we will be seeing lots more of him.
Over 97 million votes were cast this year (an American Idol record - even though the ratings were down this year) and according to Ryan Faycrest, it was 56% for 24 year old Cook and 44% for 17 year old Archuleta. I thought it would be closer than that. I hope Archuleta’s dad doesn’t beat him too badly. Fight back, David!!
Well another reality series bites the dust for this season.
Who did you guys vote for?
1992 Olympic figure skating champion Kristi Yamaguchi won the fourth season of Dancing With The Stars with a perfect performace (the first one in the series history).
It didn’t come as much as a surprise that Yamaguchi and her partner Mark Ballas would win, as she was by far the best dancer in the bunch. Penn Teller, anyone?
So after a rather lackluster season, Yamaguchi can now put the disco-ball trophy next to her Olympic gold medal… or not.
New resident hottie to 90210 is Dustin Milligan. And I’m happy to say that the new Jason Priestly of West Beverly High isn’t just handsome, but a good guy to boot. A really nice person. He’s going to be awesome.

Looks like pregnant Jessica Alba pulled a fast one on Monday and secretly married Cash Warren. Very little is known of the nuptials. Apparently it was so secret Alba’s own brother didn’t know!
The two applied for a marriage license and married less than an hour later at the Beverly Hills courthouse. The once “Sexiest Woman in the World” wore a simple blue dress. Guess they don’t make maternity sized wedding gowns.
Sounds kind of boring, no?

Who is going to take home the title of American Idol? The only sure thing is it’s going to be David. After months of knocking people off the show, it finally has come down to this… David Cook or David Archuleta.
I don’t really love either one, personally. Archuleta has a nice voice and he seems really sweet, but he’s pretty boring to watch to be honest. Cook has more presence, and has a fine voice, but I’ve heard better at the local karaoke bar.
So I’m not bananas about either of them, but if I had to choose, I’d say David Archuleta is going to walk away with the whole shebang. But my vote goes to David Cook.
What do you guys think? Guess we’ll soon find out.
Here in the US we know very little about it, but throughout Europe it is the biggest event of the year! It’s like the Super Bowl only BIGGER!
The Eurovision Song Contest began today and will also air the 22nd and 24th. American Idol has NOTHING on these contestants. It’s the kitschiest, craziest, wildest talent show in the world. This year Serbia is hosting, since they won the contest last year in Finland.
Watch the American Idol finale tonight and then plan to be glued to your computer and watch what the rest of the world is going crazy over.

This girl has the voice of an angel. JILL KNIGHT. She’s from San Francisco and writes all her own stuff. She has a couple albums you can buy from her website at jillknight.com. People need to know about this huge talent. She also wrote the opening song in the film STRANGER THAN FICTION (2000). Awesome!
She literally is one of my favorite female singers. If you like Melissa Etheridge, you’ll LOVE Jill Knight.
